The winner of Central Hudson Gas & Electric Corporation’s seventh annual Fall Foliage Photo Contest’s $500 prize is Brian Hodge of Cornwall, Orange County, who submitted his photograph taken from the Storm King State Park at Pitching Point. Of the 15 finalists, Hodge’s photograph received 633 votes, the most cast by Central Hudson’s Facebook followers. In total, more than 170 photo entries were submitted this year, and more than 3,600 votes were cast. 

“We congratulate Brian on his winning photograph, which serves as a stunning example of the fall colors and inspiring vistas we’re treated to here in the Mid-Hudson Valley,” said Denise D. VanBuren, Vice President of Public Relations at Central Hudson. “We were once again amazed by all of the entries submitted this year, as they truly were truly fitting examples of region’s spectacular fall season. We offer our sincere appreciation to the talented contestants who shared their work.

“Thank you also to all who participated by voting,” said VanBuren. “We are proud and appreciative to serve this beautiful and historic part of the country, and this annual contest reminds us of the privilege of living here.”

The contest opened on Sept. 30, 2019, inviting Central Hudson customers to submit photographs of the region’s fall season taken within the energy company’s service area by Nov. 8. A selection of finalists was posted to Central Hudson’s Facebook page, and voters were asked to “like” their favorite of the finalists. The official voting ended at noon on Nov. 22.

VanBuren also reminded customers of the benefits of “liking” and “following” Central Hudson on Facebook and Twitter to receive important safety messages, energy efficiency tips, announcements on new programs and services, updates on severe weather and other helpful information.
