Outage Restoration Callbacks

Callbacks performed by Central Hudson are important to help ensure that service is restored to all customers believed to be impacted by a single source of damage. Our callback system allows you to confirm that service has been restored at your location after our repair work is completed, or inform us if you are still without power.

Why might Central Hudson believe power is restored when it is not?

Sometimes there is a secondary, localized source of damage that is also in need of repair within a broader impacted area. For example, suppose a fallen tree caused an outage impacting 100 homes in a residential neighborhood. By repairing that damage, our crews may anticipate that service has been restored to all 100 homes. If a separate tree limb had also fallen on an individual customer's service line impacting service to just that one customer, knowing that home remains without service, despite the other completed work, helps expedite the additional repair.
