Central Hudson will be distributing dry ice and bottled water for customers in need on Monday, July 25 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the following locations:
- Rosendale Recreation Center – 1055 Route 32, Rosendale
- Home Depot, Poughkeepsie – 3470 North Rd., Poughkeepsie
A powerful line of storms moved through the area on Sunday evening, interrupting electrical service to nearly 40,000, particularly in Ulster and Dutchess Counties. As of 11:45 a.m. approximately 13,000 customers were without power, though damage is still extensive in the most heavily impacted areas.
Central Hudson is also monitoring the potential for severe weather on Monday that has the potential to cause additional outages and impact existing restoration times.
Residents are advised to exercise an abundance of caution around downed power lines by staying at least 30 feet away and remember that downed lines can become entangled and hidden in fallen limbs. Residents should also remember to assume any downed power lines are live.
