Central Hudson Increases Focus on Efficiency Rebates at Local Retailers

Central Hudson Gas & Electric Corp. has increased availability of its energy efficiency incentives and rebate offerings through a network of local retailers. With the closing of the utility’s online marketplace, the CenHub Store, rebates and special pricing on LED lighting, smart thermostats, water fixtures and electric heat pump water heaters are now more broadly available at more than 90 retail locations within the Central Hudson’s Mid-Hudson Valley service area.

“Central Hudson is more committed than ever to helping customers achieve their energy efficiency goals while supporting local businesses,” said Anthony Campagiorni, Vice President of Customer Services and Gas Operaions. “Energy efficiency programs are the most cost effective way to building a cleaner energy future. We will continue working to expand product and service offerings to help our customers manage their energy use and costs.”

Central Hudson customers can  receive an instant $50 rebate on Energy Star certified smart thermostats and a $1,000 instant rebate on Energy Star certified electric heat pump water heaters at Best Buy, Lowe’s  and The Home Depot locations in areas served by Central Hudson. Customers can access rebate codes by scanning a QR code in the store using a smartphone, or by filling out the information at CentralHudsonRebates.com and having a UPC code sent via text. This UPC code can then be redeemed at the register.

Customers looking to take advantage of special pricing on LED bulbs can look for Central Hudson signage in the lighting section of the following local stores:

  • Ace/True Value hardware store affiliates
  • Dollar General
  • Dollar Tree
  • Lowe’s
  • Sam’s Club
  • Target
  • The Home Depot
  • Walmart

Mail-in rebates are also available to qualifying customers who shop at any store of their choosing by filling out the downloadable rebate form found at https://www.cenhud.com/shoplocal.

Other energy efficiency programs offered by Central Hudson include rebates on air-source and ground-source heat pumps as well as incentives on the purchase of new, energy efficient natural gas heating equipment.
