This calculator uses recent fuel and electricity prices in New York State to estimate current costs and future savings. Future price variations will affect results. Overall averages for insulation in homes of different sizes constructed during several time periods are used to estimate heating load. Incentives from Central Hudson, the state and federal government are subject to change at any time. Be sure to confirm actual current incentives and tax credits before budgeting your project. These totals make assumptions about typical efficiency levels of air- and ground-source heat pumps but do not factor in the efficiency of your current heating system or the efficiency of a new natural gas system.
