Central Hudson & Nonprofit Partnerships
Central Hudson Gas & Electric strives to improve the quality of life and help make a difference through strategic investments in nonprofit organizations throughout the mid-Hudson Valley. Our partnerships with organizations over the years has contributed to the health, education, and wellness of thousands of children and families throughout the area.
Central Hudson’s Nonprofit Partnership Program seeks opportunities to partner with 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations that have a focus on serving communities in the mid-Hudson Valley. We look for opportunities in an array of areas, including education, arts & culture, poverty solutions and social services, community improvement, and healthy children & families.
To have your program or initiative considered for a Central Hudson grant, please submit an application for funding. Central Hudson receives many applications, and the process is competitive. We are grateful for the opportunity to consider your request.
Please be sure to submit your application for funding at least three months prior to the time the funds are needed. Once you have submitted your application online, please allow at least six weeks for review and notification of the result of your request.
Qualifying organizations:
Central Hudson awards will be made only to the following types of organizations:
- a public charity or private foundation that qualifies as a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt entity
- a local government, but only if a donation is made exclusively for public purposes
- a veterans organization or volunteer fire department organization that qualifies as a tax-exempt entity
Central Hudson does not fund:
- Groups without 501(c)(3) or similar nonprofit status
- Payment of utility bills
- Political candidates or groups
- Activities whose purpose is promotion or support of a specific religion, denomination, or religious institution
- Public and private elementary or secondary schools
- Grants to individuals or loans of any type
